The sun is shining, and we are getting ready for the biggest Yorkshire event of the year – the Tour De Yorkshire.

On 3-6 May the bike race crosses the brilliant landscapes of Yorkshire, bringing world class road racing and all eyes towards our county.

On the final day of the race, Sunday 6 May – Halifax is the starting platform for the final stage of the men’s race. The event will begin at the newly opened Piece Hall before travelling down towards the Victoria theatre, through Kings Cross and Friendly and then onwards to the Upper Valley.

The race is going to begin at 12.10pm, but before this there will be a children’s bike parade setting off 20 minutes before the race at 11.50am, where a group of chosen children will cycle through the town centre.

Broad Street Plaza will also be hosting entertainment and a big screen for visitors to continue festivities throughout the day.

The town centre will be closed to traffic until 3pm, so the area will be fully accessible for pedestrians to view the cycling, parade and team buses.

Halifax will be a fantastic place to be that first weekend in May – so come along to Halifax and Broad Street Plaza to experience the fantastic atmosphere and join the crowds in cheering on around 160 top cyclists ahead of their final tough challenge.
